No other way to describe it: the release of A Thousand Chariots crashed harder than  Ishtar and New Coke.

Every failure is a teaching opportunity and I’m looking deep inside at this one, including a bunch more internet research on publication and advertising. (I bet releasing it on a weekend played a part.)

The harder questions to answer will be about content. Is there no taste for religious fiction in American literature? Has the issue become sensitive and taboo? I’d be interested in your thoughts.

In the meantime, back to writing. There’s a WIP to get ready for The Gorgeous Editor.
